The Kimball's Experience
I grew up in the entertainment industry. I’ve been to venues all over California on both sides of the stage and got to say I’m kinda sweet on Kimball’s. kimballs.com I’ve been there to see Peter White, an evening of comedians and most recently, I took my mom to see Kelly Takunda Orphan.
Kimball’s is an intimate, tucked away setting in Emeryville that’s got me as a regular now. It’s official. I’m all theirs. I don’t know which would impress you most; the music, atmosphere, the food or who brings it ;-) but Kimball’s brings it all and takes no prisoners.
When I saw Peter White, I left with a feeling of responsibility to bring my gifts to the world. The comedy night shook the rust off my funny bone and gave my perception of everyday (un)reality a rest. See the same “thing” through someone else’s eyes and you’ll see how different the same thing is! There were a couple of Asian comedians that to’ me up!
Thursday, 11/11/04 I took my mom for an early birthday present to see Kelly Takunda Orphan. I’ve got so much to say about her, her band and music but you’ll have to read that in another article—which I invite you to! She conspired with me to wish my mom a happy birthday & the whole audience sang. I didn’t know that was going to happen. That’s part of Kelly’s magic in the magic of Kimball’s.
